How can a non-Canadian citizen get a divorce without traveling to Canada?
A friend of mine (non-Canadian) married in Canada and then immediately left the country. It’s been over a year and there has been no contact with her husband. How can she get a divorce without traveling back to Canada?

Contact a lawyer in the province where her is husband is a resident of. He/she can courier out any documents that need to be signed by your friend.
If there are no children (together, or of either party), there are no real property issues and the husband is in agreement it is relatively simple.
I do note, that Canadian law requires that one of the parties must be a resident of one province for 1 year to be able to file for divorce there. That’s the province she needs to file in.
