What happens at pretrial mediation? Court date window set for June – August. But I have a meeting at their?

request on May 28th.
My solicitor told me that myself and my solicitor will have one room, the defendant/insurance company (the man who has authority to okay the quantum), their solicitors another and in the third room the barristers debate.
Liability was admitted 18 months ago.
Their first offer was refused, my counter offer also refused.
So do they suggest a figure and come and discus it with me?
Am I way off the mark in thinking the figure they will try for will be roughly halfway between their offer and mine?
My offer was around half of the full calculated Quantum figure.
How long does it take and what is the likely hood of resolution on the day?
The case was originally split into two, they admitted the first part (liability) 3 weeks before trial.
It was a moderate head injury (medical specialists in agreement)
I accepted that they were only 75% to blame even though it really was entirely their fault to progress the case.
My accident happened 5 years ago February just gone. They (AIG) have dragged it out mercilessly.

Mediation is where a neutral helps the parties come to an agreement..

There is no telling what will happen…you will either agree to a settlement, or you wont…
